More than a bank statement.
Everyone talks about the money lost to gambling. We’re here to talk about everything else.
The Real Loss grew from one parent’s experience of missing a daughter learning to read, even while sitting beside her. A screen held the attention that belonged to the moment.
The stories are the identity.
The founder stays anonymous.
We make space for lived experience, without requiring anyone to become the face of their pain. We’re a UK-first independent project, not a treatment provider or a registered charity.
The project is currently run by an individual. Contact: thereallossproject@outlook.com.
From real loss to real life.
Our purpose is to help people recognise gambling harm, feel less alone and find established support. Recovery deserves space alongside regret: conversations, ordinary evenings, and being present again.
No gambling advertising, betting tips, affiliate offers or bookmaker sponsorship. The project will not earn money from people gambling.
